On May 5, 2008 the Marcellus Free Library opened at its new location in the Village
of Marcellus at 32 Maple Street in the Crown Mill Development near the corner of
Orange and Maple Streets. Founded in 1913 with a donation of 215 books, the
Marcellus Free Library currently has a collection of approximately 30,000 items,
including a unique collection of choral music. The Library circulates over 123,000
items annually.

Our eco-friendly library is home to an expanded collection of library materials for loan,
a self-service coffee bar, seven public use Internet computers, a color photocopier,
new Young Adult area and two tutoring rooms. Upstairs we are proud to offer the
"Friends" Community Room which is available free of charge to non-profit groups in the
community. Our new children's area is warm and inviting with a child size replica of a
mill.
